I changed from Kaiser to Blue Cross/Blue Shield. I called to ask if they were accepting new patients. Was dumbfounded that I had connected with an out of Country call center. When I asked if they were accepting new patients, the operator only kept replying, "no appointments until mid March." Again I asked if they are accepting new patients. I received the same response. Asked if I could speak to someone in the office. I was told to call my insurance company to find available doctors.
My father and brother go here, so I thought it would be an easy transition. I was wrong. I'll look elsewhere I suppose.

Unfortunately I can't give them 5 stars since they changed their phone's service to the Philippines, and can't talk to anyone in the office, but you can always reach them through the patient portal. It sometimes takes a day or two.....
I've been with West county services for over 20 years and the doctors are very good. They were alot better when they didn't have a phone service...

I truly can't say enough about Gravenstine Community Health! I see a lot of negative comments about the call center. But when I'm in an emergency situation, they can always connect me to somebody who is on call. Dr. Phoebe Smith is my PCP. I have never had such an amazing doctor ever in my life! She pushed on running tests that I FINALLY (when I say finally, my past doctor diagnosed me with allergies without doing tests) got a diagnosis on. It's considered a rare illness. If it wasn't for her, I'm not really sure if I would be here today. She is so caring and understanding of everything I have been going through. She connected me with the best therapist and psychiatrist through the same organization. And they are all such amazing people. Dr. Linda Winter and Dr. Michael Kozart are truly life savers for me. I have not had a single bad experience with anyone. And I'd like to give a shout out to Anya, she works at the front desk, I admire her and her work ethic. She's also very caring and positive. Her and I love dogs, so we tend to have a lot in common. This might seem like an over-the-top review, but trust me when I say, I couldn't ask for better healthcare.

This place is incredible, I don't really understand why it has two stars. I think sometimes the front desk is shortstaffed and it makes it really difficult to communicate with the office.
However, aside from that this place rocks! It's really integrated your doctor talks to your psychologist who talks to your dentist. Also, they have so many alternative therapy options, like acupuncture, heart math, group classes, meditation, you name it. This place is so far ahead of its time, I think the future of healthcare in the US will be like this place at some point, I'm so lucky to be able to come here. Thank you to all the wonderful doctors, nurses, receptionist, dentist, and hygienist that work here!

I wish you could give zero stars. They were fine until they put in place the call center. That is when it quickly went south. You will NEVER EVER get to talk to anyone but a call service operator when you call. My mom's first visit was February 20th. Since then I have called the nurse Mary 5 times, the Gravenstein office 10+ times, the west county office 1 time and specifically asked for office manager Denise 3 times. Zero returned calls by them. They did text me and asked me to call them! I KID YOU NOT!
I have asked for
#1 a written summary of our visit. Most offices give this without asking.
#2 results from blood test/labs
#3 information on how to access my mom's chart on line
#4 update on if my mom's bed and wheelchair have been ordered
#5 update on if my mom's diapers and chucks have been ordered.
I have received ZERO response.
After 10 days I am out of everything and the hospice medical equipment suppliers keep calling and stopping by to pick up equipment. Yeah! as if your life isn't hard enough caring for your mom Dannie, let us treat you like you and your mom don't count, right?
I printed out a detailed list of my mom's meds so they could send prescriptions to the pharmacy. They missed sending a crucial meds that helps my mom keep calm.
Let me emphasise 15 plus calls to them over 10 days. Zero calls returned.
I was upset that my mom's visit was with a nurse practitioner. West County Health/Occidental Health has left huge emotional scars on me from when I was their patient. Most of the problems are around misdiagnosis from nurse practitioners.
THEY ASSURED ME EVERYTHING COULD GET DONE WITH A NURSE PRACTITIONER.
I gave a detailed spreadsheet on my mom's meds. She has been on all the same meds no changes for almost a year. The nurse practitioner missed sending prescription for a crucial med. Then Leah made some medications ZERO refills or only gave two weeks worth of meds. Other meds has 1 or 3 refills and some meds were for a month. DO YOU SEE THE CHAOS?
The next week when they FINALLY called me they said I had a zoom meeting with a doctor. I had no knowledge of having an appointment because I did not request or make an appointment.
My pharmacist has been trying to get prescriptions refilled but they don't respond.
Yesterday Denise the Gravenstein Health office manager (WHO HAS ZERO MEDICAL EDUCATION) called to inform me that they made another appointment for me. Yes! you got it right!!!!!! I didn't ask for appointment and I did not get to choose the time or day. It was an ultimatum. Now if I do not bring my mom in today at 4:00 pm to see the doctor in person they WILL NOT fill my mothers prescriptions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are fully aware how incredibly hard it is for my mom who is bedridden and can't walk to travel. So we went from seeing the nurse practitioner is fine you don't need to see the doctor to a zoom meeting to now fully knowing the hurt it will cause forcing me to bring my mom back to town. I now have to pay $200 to hire a caregiver to help me bring my mom in because they are holding her prescriptions hostage. Nothing has changed for my mom since we saw them on February 20th. I am not asking for anything new. I did not request an appointment. It's the way they do things. When I was their patient and asking them to send a referral after weeks of it not happening and them not returning calls they informed me that they would not send a referral until billing was taken care of. Did they ever inform me there was a billing problem before that? No. They were having problems but it wasn't me I had insurance. My insurance hadn't changed. I have a zero deductible. It was them. They were holding back letting me get help.... holding hostage referrals to doctors I needed to see when it was them having problems with their accounting.
Now they are holding my mothers prescriptions hostage
