Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center of Santa Cruz

We recently welcomed our second child at Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center, and once again, the experience was absolutely incredible. The staff is truly amazing--so many wonderful nurses, midwives, pediatricians, and lactation consultants helped us along the way that it would be impossible to name them all. From our many check-ins (including when we thought my wife's water had broken three times, up until it actually did), they made us feel completely comfortable, informed, and cared for every step of the way. The level of care we received from beginning to end was outstanding. Everyone went above and beyond to make the entire process smooth and comforting. Even the food was exceptional--the kitchen does a fantastic job, and you won't be disappointed with your meals. This was our second delivery here, and we truly couldn't imagine having a baby anywhere else. Thank you very much--we appreciate all of your hard work and dedication.

I gave birth here about a week ago, and it was the best experience. All the staff are extremely friendly And took great care of me during my induction. This was my first child and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Shelly was my RN during labor & she made it enjoyable, even when it wasn't. I'm extremely thankful for her and hope she can get the recognition she deserves.. she was personable, kind, and knowledgeable. Thank you for everything!

I had a wonderful labor and delivery experience here. It was truly a beautiful experience from start to finish, and I am so grateful for every staff person who helped make that happen. I went into this delivery, knowing that it would be my last, since I am done having kids, and everyone at Sutter Maternity made it the perfect labor, delivery and postpartum! I am so thankful for all of my nurses and doctors who made the delivery of my twins such a magical night. Thank you Dr. Rider, Tara, Shyla, Rachel, Heather and everyone else that was there for me and my husband. We cannot thank you enough for everything. The food was delicious, and always promptly brought to my room. The room itself was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable, even for my husband. The staff was respectful about minimizing nighttime wakings so we were able to get plenty of rest. As much as I was ready to get home, I was sad to leave because I felt like I truly made friends with the all of the nurses and staff and I was sad to say goodbye!

I had an amazing experience during my stay at Sutter. Every person I encountered was professional, helpful, and supportive. The midwives Ila, Kayla, Vanessa, Alex, and Katy were insightful and caring. The labor and delivery nurses Sarah, Jenna, and Barbara truly went above and beyond. I can't say enough good things about the team at Sutter. They made my husband and I feel so comfortable and encouraged, listening to all of our concerns and offering sound guidance.

We had the best experience giving birth here. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. The food was great. The rooms were large and private. We would have our second child here. The nurses and midwives are caring, thoughtful and helpful.
