Dr. Shafi saw me under circumstances that were very, very inconvenient for him, but he volunteered to help me anyway. Now, it's really nice when a doc is friendy and all, but it's more important to turn sick people into well people, and all nice docs aren't particularly good at doing so. Well, Dr. Shafi IS. Dr. Shafi has earned the superb rating he gets on the Sutter Health care system website. His work is always a matter of life and death, and it's, well, heartening to see a doctor both care this much about other human beings and do such an excellent job of helping them. Thanks, Doc! And thank you SO much to his Physician's Assistant and the wonderful people at his front counter who helped me instead of telling me to hit the bricks, like so many other medical office people have done, both in person and over the phone. I believe one of these wonderful people was named Lauren. I can't recall all their names, but I can recall that I'm still alive, and they have a lot to do with that fact.
