This review is for the doctor Good Sam referred us to: Our ER at Good Sam is great but one of the doctors they referred for the after care if horrible. I strongly recommend that Good Sam Hospital remove Jeffrey Kanel, MD, from their list of follow-up pediatric orthopedic providers. Our experience was extremely disappointing. My daughter broke her arm, and after being treated at the Good Sam ER, we came to Dr. Kanel for follow-up care because he was listed as one of the recommended providers. When he entered the room, he never looked at us, never asked how my daughter was feeling, and provided no explanation of her condition or the next steps. He spent less than one minute in the room and simply told us to return in a week for a cast. There was no compassion, no communication, and no effort to understand her situation. Although he may have the necessary medical qualifications, his bedside manner and patient care were severely lacking. We left feeling completely unseen and unheard. Adding to this concern, we later received an insurance claim from his office for more than $1,800, despite the doctor spending less than a minute with us. It felt as though the priority was billing rather than providing genuine patient care. I strongly recommend removing this doctor from the Good Sam website and recommendation list to protect both the hospital's reputation and patients' safety.

Lois at reception at the East Entrance is a master juggler, supported me and my partner get started with great care while surrounded by others at a busy arrival time, without the help of his usual volunteer. He also printed out an AHCD for us that we had forgotten to bring. The pre-op nurse station did excellent work, all ports went in smoothly and carefully. Dr L & Dr B work well together, and have a solid support team in the procedure room. I was fully briefed by Dr B, had a quick visit from Dr L, and felt no fear under their care. Post-op went well, and my partner and I were escorted by my post-op nurse to the curb (Allison?) and that extra touch of continuity helped my transition. As did the pre-op into the procedure room continuity....not many hospitals have this important element built into their systems. Thank you for the great care.

My wife delivered our first baby at Good Samaritan Hospital, and overall, we had a wonderful experience. All the nurses - Kim, Quynh and the entire team - were truly amazing : very helpful, caring, and informative throughout the entire process. There was one operational issue we faced: my wife was admitted in the evening, and the next day the cafeteria had a planned menu change. Due to some miscommunication within the catering team, we barely received any food that day. We shared this with the nurses and the head nurse, and that's when we learned they also hadn't been informed about the change. They acted quickly and ensured we received lunch. This seemed like an operational oversight that could have been planned or communicated better. Despite this, our overall experience was excellent. We especially want to highlight the Labor & Delivery team. Special thanks to Quynh, who was with us on delivery day. She supported us throughout the entire day with incredible patience, care, and professionalism. We deeply appreciate everything she did for us. Thank you to the entire team for making this special moment in our lives so much smoother and memorable.

Attacked, in pain and feeling sorry for myself this place was a game changer. I have lived long enough to have visited and experienced hospitals across the country. This one is number one. If you are ever in an ambulance as I was and asked where to take you insist on this hospital. I had never heard of them but luck or providence got me here. This place brims with love through the wonderful employees/staff. I also had to call and complain to their nutrition dept of being lied to because there is no way this is hospital food. But kidding aside its like the best restaurant food you'll get on a night out. when I get out I want to come back and eat here regularly. I cant recommend this place more and although I wish no harm or need for their services, when you or a loved one are choosing care I promise you this is the right choice. I challenge anyone to say otherwise to me.

My baby was born on December 1st at 6:56 AM, and as first-time parents going through a very difficult labor, we will forever be grateful for Nurse Jennifer Siess. She came in just to cover and was supposed to go back to her unit but when I asked her to stay with me, she did. She stayed all day. That kindness meant more than she'll ever know. Jennifer is truly an angel. She became our strength when everything felt overwhelming. She supported us through every fear, every moment of pain, and every tear. She's that old-school kind of nurse who doesn't just do her job she lives it with her whole heart. The way she cared for me, guided me, and comforted me is something I will never forget. We truly feel like we owe her. She made one of the hardest experiences of our lives feel safer and supported. Good Samaritan Hospital is incredibly lucky to have someone like her. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, Jennifer. You will always be a part of our story as first-time parents.
