I was in a very bad car accident with multiple surgeries. Surgical metal and my wrist knee surgeries, and the last one was at UCSF Hospital. This surgery was the worst I had 4 rods in my lower back holding up my tailbone to L5. While the surgeons and the medical team on the other side of the street were excellent, the hospital always when I visited was horrible. I was not told when I needed to be going home.I think it was the second day once I was able to go to the bathroom. The nurse came in and said it's time to go.We're checking you out. While I live down near silicon valley, I said, I will call my daughter and have her come pick me up. The nurse said, well, you have this amount of time and we will, and we we'll chair you downstairs and leave you outside without a wheelchair. I am not lying. This is the absolute truth. Other occurrences, like a flare up happened, and I had to lay on the dirty floor in the ER with no help, I waited hours and hours, they put a lidocaine patch on my back and never treated me never scheduled anything. Both times there was an extreme lack of human kindness. An extreme lack of competency. One of the doctors kept coming up to me and then picking up her cell phone and walking away. I laid on a gurney after the floor for several hours and I never got treated by the doctor only a nurse. Whom put a patch on that fell off before I returned home . I do not recommend going to this hospital. Please go down to redwood city at sequoia or stanford. It's really really bad there. I went to sequoia. I was treated properly with human kindness and dignity.

I have been going to this hospital steadily for about 4 years now and I can count one on one had the bad experiences I've had...which is two to three. They have a wonderful, caring staff and always do their best to make me feel better and more comfortable. It has a beautiful view of the city and the bay that you can enjoy as well. I'm normally admitted when I come here and I live 45 minutes to an hour away. There is no other hospital that I go to. Thanks for always doing your best to accommodate me

Great doctors and nurses. I have been a patient at most hospitals in the City and the doctors at UCSF are by far the best, showing a genuine interest in your well-being. Highly recommend UCSF to anyone needing medical care.

I visited the UCSF Neurology department in early 2024 and they ran every conceivable test possible for the next 8 months with 'No Diagnosis'. They did find that I had heavy metal poisoning after making me take 3 separate test and ignoring, and not believing the results, without providing the suggested treatment. I even had to get an "out of network" Provider just to see their Movement Disorder Clinic as they wouldn't refer me internally, again with no diagnosis given. There was an 8 month waiting list for an appointment and I could no longer afford the private, expensive health insurance so I never got to see them. Now after 1 1-2 years later and not caring about me, UCSF reported the heavy metal poisoning to "The Governor's Office" who sent a local Detective to my home!!! I told them the poisoning came from long-term exposure from a rental house we were in and had been abandoned for years and was heavily sprayed with rat poison and had mold covered up by the cheap renovation, and they DID NOT BELIEVE ME! So UCSF made tens of thousands on tests, their #1 Neurology dept couldn't give me a diagnosis, and there is no improvement in my health.

They put me in a "hot room" and tried to cook me for 3 days knowing I was complaining of being drenched in sweat and overheated. They didnt order the proper imaging to be able to diagnose my injury. They assigned me to the wrong department. They didnt coordinate with the VA. They falsified my medical records in several clear instances. They lied to me about what procedure I was being given. They just used me to pad their wallets and provided no treatment for my injury.
