Dr. Bowers is an amazing human being. I love him. He saved my life and I'll forever be in his debt. I strongly recommend and encourage anyone who may be struggling with arrhythmia, or need ablations, or pacemakers to give Dr. Bowers a call. He's very knowledgeable and kind. Dr Bowers spent a lot of time explaining what the surgery would mean step by step and answered all our questions. The time seemed to mean nothing to him nor his staff. They wanted to be sure we understood the procedure. After our initial appointment, I have had prompt and courteous response from his staff and Dr Bowers.
I would not recommend anyone to Doctor Bowers. He represented that the surgical procedure my wife had had a 90% success rate. Since that operation in March, she has had 3 major attacks in which she was rushed to hospital with a heart beat of 210. It has taken actual days for Doctor Bowers to respond to messages to his office that my wife was rushed to the hospital and what we should do. The last incident took him or his office 6 days to returning our calls!! This is not a one incident example. There has been a pattern here. While we were disappointed that the procedure that Doctor Bowers told us that there is a 90% success rate, we acknowledge she could fall into the 10% failure rate. We cannot however accept the lack of empathy, curiosity, and general concern that has been the theme for Doctor Bowers and his staff. You would expect as a result of the emergency visits after the surgery, after Doctor Bowers told us there is a 90% success rate, that he would personally pick up the phone and discuss the situation with his patient. My wife's heart condition is serious.. Perhaps a matter of life and death and we acknowledge that reality and would expect nothing less than a responsive caring approach to her condition from her heart doctor. I feel its my responsibility to let others know, we did not receive that care or concern from Doctor Bowers and his staff.
I was very pleased with the treatment I rec'd from Dr Bowers and his staff. I was admitted to the hospital with AFibwith my heart rate at 176. After several tests, I was transferred and referred to Dr Bowers. He listened to my concerns and together we decided to go for a treatment called Afib ablation. The success rate and risks were presented. I was told he may have to do again, if it didn't work the first time. I was fortunate and it was successful. I am pleased with the Dr's follow ups.
