Dr. Michael K. Cao

I took my mother to see Dr. Michael Cao today for her first visit, and we had a very positive experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff -- especially Huyen, Bao, and Shiely at the reception -- were warm, helpful, and very attentive. They made sure everything ran smoothly, answered our questions, and put us at ease. Dr. Cao himself was kind, patient, and professional. He took time to listen carefully to her concerns and explain things clearly. His bedside manner was excellent -- he showed genuine care, respect, and empathy. It's clear he wants his patients to feel understood and supported, not rushed. Despite seeing a range of negative reviews, our experience with Dr. Cao and his team was great. I'm grateful for their compassionate care today and Thank you, Dr. Cao, and thanks to Huyen, Buu, and Shirely for making today a smooth and reassuring visit.

I am deeply disappointed with the care my father received from Dr. Michael Cao and his office. After my father was discharged from the hospital in August 2024, it was urgently recommended that he see a cardiologist due to his heart issues. Dr. Cao saw my dad in September, and a test was conducted soon after. However, when it came to releasing the results or reviewing them for potential risks, Dr. Cao and his office became incredibly uncooperative. Not only did they make it extremely difficult for us to get the test results, but they also caused unnecessary delays for both my father's primary care physician and his high-risk doctor in obtaining critical information. The office staff kept the report from me and my family which I know I have the rights to obtain. After countless of heated arguments with their office staff going back and forth about the results by the time they agreed to send the results it was time to see Dr. Cao for the follow-up. Then Dr. Cao just simply said our case needs to be referred to another specialist when they could've referred us directly to begin with. Despite the urgency of my father's case, it seemed like Dr. Cao was unwilling to prioritize the situation. My father passed away in November 2024 due to cardiac arrest, and I can't help but feel that better communication and more proactive care might have made a difference. I expected better from a cardiologist, especially when my dad's health was at such high risk. Sadly, this experience has been a frustrating and painful one, and I would not recommend Dr. Cao to anyone in need of urgent care. During this time I heard he is the mayor so it seemed like he was too occupied and prioritizing that over the care for his patients.

I needed clearance for an upcoming surgery and was recommended to Dr. Cao's office. The entire staff has been nothing short of amazing. They were kind, professional, thorough, and so accommodating. They did all they could to get me to the clearance I needed and made it happen, squeezing me in where they could and expediting the entire process as quickly as they could. Dr. Cao is kind, personable, professional, and thorough in his patient care. I couldn't be happier and highly recommend Golden Heart Medical.

Dr Cao is very rude with an arrogant, stuckup with cocky attitude. We've never had such a bad experience at any Dr's office before. Usually Drs are very compassionate, but this guy is the exact opposite. He thinks he's bad bc he's a mayor. Well! I'm from Arcadia and guess who I won't be voting for at the reelection. When he came to our house pre-election campaigning, he was so nice and friendly. But now...he doesn't give a dam about anyone's feelings. He didn't let us ask any questions. He said my dad's heart is healthy and that's it. We wanted to ask about a heart med that was given to him at the rehab to see if it's needed. He shut us down saying what they give it's their business. What kind of an unprofessional, stupid answer was that. Then he stomped out. You are a bad Dr and the worst mayor. You think patients/ppl need you. You need us too. You will one day find out the hard way...SOG. If I can give a 0 star, I would.

Dr. Cao is a dedicated and knowledgeable doctor. He truly cares about his patients and try his best to accommodate their needs. His staff are competent and his office is always clean and welcoming. Our family was very lucky to have been referred to him a few years back through our family doctor. Because of my busy schedule, I especially appreciate the fact that his office has an efficient appointment system and the staff that will always send out timely reminders a few days before our check-ups. Too bad he does not have more offices; we could really benefit from him having a few more locations close to Burbank or Glendale.
