Dr. Andreas Mauer is not only a top-notch cardiologist, he is incredibly learned and helpful in terms of "whole-health" care. Sometimes specialists see the tree but not the forest, and Dr. Mauer is an exceptional cardiologist -- thorough, comprehensive, knowledgeable about all things heart-related, -- but he also sees the big picture and will put together other things you may tell him that are happening with your health, and then he will order the right tests, prescribe the right treatment, and advise you about healthy life style choices, all while considering not just your ticker, but all of you. He is professional but oh, so friendly and dare I say, just a charming communicator. And here's the kicker -- I once left a message with the front desk about a "weird" thing that happened to me, and they let me know to email Dr. Mauer's PA. The very next day, I received an email from the PA confirming she gave it to Dr. Mauer AND that evening, Dr Mauer CALLED ME to reassure me not to worry and let me know. Can you believe that? That is real care and real caring.
