I don't know how much to thank Dr Jin Kyung Kim Md Phd. I came to uci with a history of high blood pressure and afib. Under her care, my blood pressure comes down to normal and afib disappeared. She's really care about patient with complicated problems and also refer me to other doctors that can help my other health problems. Thanks so much Dr Jin Kyung Kim

Do not go to this doctor. If I could give zero stars I would After a technician misrecorded my data for a TILT test I immediately emailed Dr Kim to let her know. I informed her that both myself and a family member had witnessed my heart rate change significantly. I got a short response and then nothing for months. By the time the follow up came around I was very upset. At the appointment dr Kim said she believed the technician over me and a witness. She refused to re order the test or even look into the data being potentially inaccurate. I kept pressing until she admitted she had no hard evidence to back up her opinion as the tilt data isn't printed or saved in anyway only the technicians misrecorded data notes but that she believed him. On top of this the whole time she made sure to not talk directly to me. Instead she chose to focus on my accompanying family and ignore me completely. I will openly admit I lost my temper. To be honest though, after a doctor tries denying a diagnoses you were already given, ignoring your pleas to redo a test that wasn't accurately recorded in your chart, siding with a colleague, suggesting it's in your head, and talking over you/flat out ignoring you there's only so much a person can do to not lose their shit. I have filed grievances with both my insurance and the hospital. I'll be filing requests to amend my medical records as well. Edit to add that when I filed the grievance and it came back to me with her statement "DR" KIM LIED TO THE INSURANCE about the test stating to them she agreed with my diagnosis, that the data was misrecorded, and that it needed to be done again. I have two witnesses who say otherwise. This incident has led me to switch away from UCI completely. I'm now on track to see a cardiologist who specializes in my condition. Don't let doctors bully you, especially this liar

I recently had an appointment with Dr. Kim at UC Irvine Health, and unfortunately, my experience was highly disappointing. Dr. Kim's bedside manner was cold and uninviting. When I tried to explain my medical history, she interrupted me multiple times, making me feel like my input was not important. Moreover, Dr. Kim was unhelpful in providing clear explanations or guidance. I left the appointment with more questions than answers and felt more anxious about my condition. Her lack of communication and unwillingness to engage in a meaningful conversation about my treatment options was frustrating and disheartening. As a cardiologist who specialized in HCM, one would expect Dr. Kim to exhibit a high level of care and compassion, especially given the serious nature of cardiac health. Sadly, this was not the case. Her dismissive attitude and lack of empathy made me feel like just another number rather than a patient in need of care. I would not recommend Dr. Kim to anyone seeking a supportive and attentive cardiologist. There are many other healthcare professionals who truly care about their patients and take the time to listen and address their concerns. I will be seeking care elsewhere in the future. She also did not want to review my echo results until 5 months later, during her next available appointment.
