About Dr. Ines Sherifi, MD, MSC

My goal as a clinical cardiologist is to provide comprehensive and evidence-based care to all my patients. In a new era of medical care, I believe in the incorporation of new technological innovations and evidence from the latest clinical trials to provide improved and individually tailored care for our patients. I additionally completed a master's degree at the Universite Paris Diderot in Paris, France. I subsequently trained in Cardiovascular Medicine at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in the program led by Dr Valentin Fuster.

Patient Reviews

Patient

This appointment was a shockingly poor experience. Sherifi walked in looking irritated and disengaged, spoke to me as though I were wasting her time, and made no effort to listen or understand my concerns. Every time I tried to explain my symptoms or family history, she seemed visibly annoyed. The exam was perfunctory--one quick listen with a stethoscope, a few clipped comments, and she was gone. The entire visit lasted only minutes, yet my insurance was billed close to $1,000. There was no curiosity, no explanation, and absolutely no sense of empathy. I left the office feeling belittled, dismissed, and no closer to any kind of medical help. I felt like an annoyance, not a human being that mattered. If you want a doctor who actually listens, shows basic respect, or provides thoughtful care, I recommend finding someone else.

Dr. Sherifi is not my outpatient doctor but did take care of me in the hospital a few months ago and was kind and informative, all I ask from my treating physicians! She did however tell me to stop drinking coffee! I was devastated! Just now I was at her Novato office (where my doctor also sees patients) and bumped into her. I remembered what she said about the coffee and said to her "I can't have any coffee?" to see if she'd tell me the same thing:no caffeine. She thought I was asking her to bring me a cup of coffee right then and said something like "I'll get one of the staff" and was off before I realized what she thought I was asking about. I didn't see her again the rest of my visit to clarify that I was asking for her clinical judgement on coffee in general and if she was going to double down on the prohibition. She must have thought I had a lot of nerve! Still, though she probably thought I was another entitled Marin patient, she was still kind and I swear she would have brought me one if that were appropriate (it wouldn't have been for several reasons)! Five stars for a doctor who isn't even MY doctor!
