Nikhil Bassi

I was referred to Dr Bassi at Newport Cardiology and at every opportunity, I absolutely loved my interactions with the staff. The schedulers and front desk, nurses, and Dr. Bassi were all caring and took their time with me, and they were on time and communicative. Parking is easy and the office is clean and nice--would definitely recommend! Great experience from start to finish.

On October I went in for a stress test. Arrived at 5:50 am and could not get in the building. I was waiting for 6 AM in my car when Carlos came out and said he could walk me up. He was so together and had everything set up and ready to go. Carlos gave me the heart test and then walked me over to the treadmill room, where Mark gave me the treadmill test. Mark then walked me back to Carlos to scan my heart again. What a team. When employees work so hard without anybody watching them, you know you have valuable employees. Every move and every sequence was planned out. In and out in 45 minutes. If I could give them 10 stars I would. Dr. Bassi was also so caring, and the staff as well.

I am blown away. At 62 I have seen many Doctors and Offices. I walked in and was greeted with smiles and 'How are you today'. The Office had a few patients, but all seemed comfortable $ confident, unlike every other Cardiologist I have seen. I taken to the back by his RN, who actually laughed outloud at my corny jokes about my weight. She spent a few minutes talking to me (I am a new patient) making me comfortable, getting to know me. She performed the tests quickly, with professionalism and a smile on her face. Dr Bassi walked in. I was prepared for the entire lecture on 'If you don't do this you will die' along with his quick exit. Nothing could be further from the truth! He explained what was happening with my heart and made suggestions. He actually TALKED to me about my concerns and opinions (what the heck?). He spent time getting to know me and where I stood. I was not made to feel 'ignorant' for information I did not know! The ENTIRE Staff in the Office were friendly, kind and willing to spend a few moments talking to you. I feel I've hit the lottery!

My husband and I both go to Dr. Bassi. He is so kind and patient with all of our questions. Recently he had me do a Coronary Calcium Score test. This checks for plaque and mine came back at zero. This test is not covered by insurance but only costs $200.00 with a doctor's order and done at an authorized imaging center. I think everyone over 50 should have one of these tests and have Dr. Bassi as your cardiologist!

This practice has the RUDEST and most inefficient appointment bookers EVER. They tell you that you need to fill a form on the website and that they will schedule the appointment in 72h. 10 days have passed and I had no call back nor an appointment booked. Now I have been called by the "manager" telling me off because I re-submitted the appointment request and he subsequently threatened me to put me at the bottom of the list If I dare to do it again. Unbelievable. They are inaccurate about their response time and they blame it on the clients! If Dr. Bassi is as good as the people hired to run his practice.... we are all gonna need a different cardiologist.
