Patient
As the legal advocate for an elderly patient of Dr. Ramilo's it is my duty to manage appointments, tests, and the treatment plan. Consistently, Dr. Ramilo's phone staff ("Wendy" & "April") are the barriers to speaking with the doctor's assistant. No matter that I've spoken with the doctor's assistant and am in fact returning her call. 20 questions ensue from the gatekeepers. It is a private matter to say the least and I do not wish to reiterate the private information regarding this patient every time I return a call from this office. When I have left messages for the assistant with the phone staff, they've GIVEN THE INCORRECT MESSAGE, NOT AT ALL WHAT I EXPLICITLY ASKED THEM TO GIVE. So the assistant's time is also wasted. I.e. do I need to reschedule an appt.? No, that is not at all what I needed. What I have done is call the Turlock office to leave a message for the assistant in the Modesto office. The Turlock office is somehow much more professional, understands what is needed and efficiently processes the information to the correct party. Keep this in mind when you consider this doctor's office for treatment. Appointments are simple but follow-up is horrible. UPDATE! 4 of 5 STARS! Reviews work! To my surprise, Dr. Ramilo has responded and continued to follow up regarding the issues at his office! This is really the best outcome. I do not enjoy writing negative reviews in general but must from time to time in hope that doing so will perhaps improve a business. Dr. Ramilo called me personally and thanked me for bringing these issues to his attention (I had also written a letter to him). He spoke with me for quite a while, updating me on my mother's care as well as discussing future care options. This is really outstanding. There was a third-party service responsible for processing incoming calls. This service has been contacted by the doctor's office in order to improve the communication between clients and their office.
