Patient
I unfortunately can't review him based on his medical care because he only saw me for about 2 seconds...and they missed the MAJOR fracture running through my hip. I had to see an orthopedic surgeon. Now, this Brian Ichwan MD is billing me separately from the ER, but he's not making it easy. I believe I saw it on a paper bill (which is a huge mistake), and now I can't find it...because it's a paper bill. I called the Hospital that he saw me out of and they've completely washed their hands of the matter and tell me that they cannot see what he is billing me. How convenient. Eventually I get a number for "Vituity Billing" and I have now waited over 2.5 hours and still haven't talked to a human. Oh sure, they would be glad to blindly accept my payment, but if I have question or want to see it in writing, nope! So I googled his name and came across some medical office. I called them and they said "he's not with them any longer." Wait, what? They also had no forwarding contact information. Oh my goodness, this is now a horror story. There's some rogue doctor out there that is not being held accountable, cannot be reached, etc, and he's out there charging people independently. Probably send me to collections too if I don't. What is this, the movie "Catch Me if You Can?" People, the medical industry/system is seriously broken!! Why can't they just send me one bill? The thing is, I have the money and am ready to pay, but I keep getting the runaround. This doctor cannot be reached. What should I do next? Reach out to the medical licensing board? Sue the Hospital?
