Dr. Rajendra R. Makkar and his team gave my father a new lease on life. At the Smidt Heart Institute last November, they discovered my father's heart valve regurgitation, which his previous cardiologist had failed to detect. Given my father's age of 82 and the fact that the regurgitation affected the tricuspid valve, a traditional procedure was not an option. Thankfully, a new device called the Evoque valve was in the process of receiving FDA approval. Although it received FDA approval in February this year, my father's valve size was too large, and we had to wait until a suitable size was approved. The waiting period was challenging, but with the continuous care and support of Nurse Practitioner Brittany Cole, my father was finally able to undergo the procedure with Dr. Rajendra R. Makkar and his team this past October. The procedure was carried out swiftly and successfully with remarkable precision. Immediately after the procedure, my father's shortness of breath disappeared. I am truly grateful for this groundbreaking technology that brings hope to patients.

Thanks to Dr Makkar for his kind and gentle manner. He helped me to relax about a critical procedure. His expertise and knowledge made the procedure a success. In hospital only three days for heart valve replacement. Amazing!

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Makkar. Not only he did an amazing job on my mom's valvuloplasty, but also, he figured my mom's colon problem.
