Patient
Patients and caretakers of patients: Be prepared to wait 4 months to review the results of ordered bloodwork with this doctor. Be prepared to follow up multiple times with the office on claim submission and wait 7 weeks for your claim to be filed with your insurance company. And lastly, be prepared to call the office to request a refund when your insurance reimbursement check is direct deposited into the doctor's account. Please pay close attention and track your medical claim reimbursements with this office. I really hope my experience was an honest error and they are not double-collecting payment (from the patient in addition to insurance). Here is a summary of my experience: I booked an appointment in late October of 2024 for an annual physical. The exam went as expected--standard annual physical exam. Dr. Humphries provided me with an order for bloodwork (also as expected), but then communicated that I should make a follow up appointment in 4 MONTHS to review the bloodwork results. Billing/Claims: I paid in full for my appointment before I left the office. I asked for a super bill so that I could submit my claim for reimbursement with my insurance. The receptionist told me that they will take care of submitting the claim. 4 weeks later, insurance had not received the claim, so I called the office and was told they will submit the claim. Another 2 weeks, still no claim submission and a second follow up call with the same response from the receptionist. My insurance company received the claim 7 weeks after my appointment. When my claim was finally filed with my insurance company, the information provided in the claim stated that the insurance payment should go to the doctor rather than me. Insurance direct deposited the reimbursement into the doctor's account 15 days after they received the claim. In late January, after speaking with my insurance company, I contacted the receptionist who tried to tell me it was an insurance error (it was not). When my insurance company contacted the receptionist to explain where the claim was filled out incorrectly, the receptionist told my insurance company "do not tell her that I submitted this incorrectly". Very shady and shocking. I was shocked at my experience with this doctor. This office has been in practice for well over 2 decades and should be well versed in submitting insurance claims, but also to wait 4 months to receive blood work results is equally shocking and disappointing. I won't be going back.
