My initial visit with Dr. Soni was not a personable one. He lacks good bedside manners and I found him to be very insensitive to my concerns, very judgmental to my needs as a patient, and a man with minus zero sense of humor (i.e. a very small fish bowl minus the fish). He was not a good listener when explaining to him the causes of my arrhythmia; but rather comes up with his own diagnosis. He left me with the impression that if he doesn't like you as a person, he'll avoid your next visit (i.e. cancellation of your appointment with a bogus "has to be at the hospital" when I had to wait a month for the appointment. If you want to consult with him on the phone, he charges an office visit. His staff never answer the phone. I would leave 3-5 messages and it would take up to 3-4 days to get a call back; and if you're not home to receive the call, you'll have to start all over again. I hope that he is not representative of the way doctors relate to patients in this new age of medicine. One star is too high a rating for the services he had to offer.

My experience with Dr Soni was one of the best experiences I have ever had with a physician. He is an excellent communicator - listens, answers questions thoroughly and clearly, and usually returns calls the same day. He is kind, compassionate, and I found his " bedside manner" to be outstanding . I have afib and when I had my latest and longest episode, he talked at length with me about my options- I ended up with 2 cardioversion as the first one didn't work and he changed my medication which has keep me out of afib for over a year. In addition, he recognized that my symptoms went beyond heart-related problems , sent me off for extensive blood work and found that my hemoglobin was dangerously low. He sent me to a specialist and called me to find out the results. I'm sorry that Maureen had such a bad experience- it was as if she had a different doctor. I have also found the staff at his office- nurses, office people, etc- to be helpful and efficient. I can not recommend Dr Soni highly enough!
