Dr Lyle's bedside manner is very unreliable. Will you get the nice Dr Lyle or the angry Dr Lyle? My last visit with him I got the angry Dr Lyle when he yelled at me for allowing my PCP to change the dosage on my cholesterol med. I'm writing this review because I want people to know he has anger issues and you need to do your research and think twice about going to him.

I went to see Dr. Lyle because I had palpitation/my heart was skipping beats. On the first visit, he spent 3 minutes with me. He said that my EKG looked normal and that I needed a heart monitor for a week, some blood work and then come back later for a stress test and he left the room (yes, 3 minutes!!). On the day of the stress test (1month later), the palpitation no longer existing. The assistant was great I give her 5 stars. But to Dr. Lyle I give a generous 2 stars. He came in while I was trotting on the treadmill. Said that the heart monitor showed nothing wrong (that was a relief). However, my LDL (bad) cholesterol was too high (130) should be lower. That the only way to bring it down is by taking medication. His words "there is no exercise to lower it that its genetics" I have no idea how he possible knows that this is genetics! (I have no knowledge any of my direct family suffers high cholesterol, but somehow he seems to know my family history). Anyhow, he said that I will have to go on meds for life to control my cholesterol. To start by taking a specific name medication (I don't recall the name) his words "there are several genetic drugs out there, but start with 20 mg on a specific medication". I asked him about my good cholesterol (84mg/ml) because I read that the good and bad cholesterol go hand in hand. He didn't seem to care at all his words "yeah, that number doesn't matter nowadays".
Dr. Lyle comments and his service (customer service) have disappointed me. I cannot believe that he did not offer any alternative solution!!! such as exercise & diet. After all, I'm on my early 40s, 6 foot tall and weight 190 pounds. Instead, he went the fast route prescribing 20mg Rosuvastatin Calcium for life!. I will get a second opinion from another cardiologist.
