Poulina Q Uddin, MD, specializes in risk stratification and management of coronary disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular disease and management of pacemakers. Dr Uddin emphasizes prevention with her patients, and promotes risk reduction through healthy lifestyle change. She, along with her colleagues, developed the Scripps Women's Heart Center, where she currently serves as a member of the care team, both clinical and administrative. Her research interests include treatments for the reduction of inflammation in cardiac patients after myocardial infarction or diagnosis of coronary artery disease, and genetic risk factors associated with the development of cardiac disease.

Dr. Uddin is by far the best Dr. I have ever had the pleasure to be a patient of in any field of practice. I have been to many physicians in San Deigo (unfortunately I have one too many health issues) and Dr Uddin is freaking amazing. She is so easy to talk too and she makes you feel that you are going to be OK as she sets out a plan for you. I just had an Angioplasty at Scripps La Jolla and it went so smoothly I can't believe it. Dr Uddin is my favorite Cardiologist ever!! Actually I'm not too fond of the medical field but she has been an exception. She is kind and caring along with being aware of many ways of approaching cardiac care. She was willing to work with me until I needed more. When I went to the emergency ward, doctors that are within her practice, met me there and they were also exceptional. (Dr Uddin was out of town) I had to have stents put in and this was my second time. I had a few unique obstacles and everyone did their very best to accommodate me. I could not have asked for more. In choosing Dr Uddin as my cardiologist, I had the best whether it was her or her co-workers. I am moving soon and I will truly miss her. Side note: Every cardiologist I have ever met was a man and had no personality. The 3 Cardiologist I met in this practice were all women and that could never said about any of them. Just sayin. :))
