Coastal Cardiology of Orange County

Drs are fantastic!! I really like Dr. Mitiku. He is caring and explains things very well. I've also heard all good things about the other Drs from this clinic. My big complaint is LADERA Ranch location office staff. The front desk receptionist is in her own little world and not sure what world that is... I was booked to check in for a test at 7:45. She arrived to open the office at 5 till 8am. The day before another girl talked to a lady leaving for at least 5 min about hair dews while I stood at the counter. One man who had been there for a few hours asked about getting something to eat and was told you should have brought a snack. When he asked how was he to know she replied it's on your paperwork. Oh she forgot to give him that paperwork. I'm a senior and unfortunately have to see different doctors somewhat regularly. I imagine the Irvine location is probably much better. The Ladera Ranch office may win the award for clerical people who just don't care. Pretty sad!!

Since I have been coming to see Dr Mitiku I have no complaints. He is a great Cardiologist is very knowledgeable. The people who work for him are very kind and helpful

Care was good, but they make it IMPOSSIBLE to pay your bill. I've called them 5-7 times over the past few months and no one ever picks up. I even left a message with no call back. I sent in a check, it wasn't cashed, and they sent me another bill. And they still aren't answering my calls. You'd think they'd make it easy for you to pay them So frustrating.

Beware of this group. Needed to get in - referred from my physician. Urgent required. After saying "Monday at 11:45", they found out I was HMO and not PPO. Now there were no appointments for over a month. When Cardiologists care more about an extra $50.00-$100.00 then they do about patients with potentially life threatening issues, they should become accountants. Remember before picking them that your health will ALWAYS come second to their money. 2nd Update after response from owner - actually, I looked at the records completely in response to your statement that "I didn't have authorization" - and the facts show you are not accurate. I did have an MRN# at the time (8:38AM), which your scheduler said was "all they needed" (at the time). Of course, until I said I had an HMO. Then he said he would ask someone about this. By 8:43 AM I had received notice of authorization via my electronic chart app (you get the same?). My next call from you was at 10:12 AM (AFTER authorization had been issued) and told me the appointment I wanted was "only for follow-ups". You NEVER said "we are sorry, but we haven't received an authorization". Honest mistakes from honest people would normally be followed by an apology. People in need of urgent medical care shouldn't be left out in the cold because a cardiology group apparently cares more about the money than people. Again - beware of this group

Dr. Wertman saved my life, and continues to take care of my health. He is kind, caring, and knowledgeable. He is the best doctor I have ever had!
