If I could give zero stars I would. I had a very unpleasant phone call with Dr. Borno's medical assistant yesterday and I am demanding to be transferred away. She asked me why I was calling about my blood pressure being low and my kardia mobile EKG saying tachycardia. She proceeded to tell me I should have stopped all my meds, which are mental health and seizure meds and can't just be stopped. Plus the nurse practitioner told me not to stop them. The medical assistant then continued to berate me about how they didn't put my on any meds so it wasn't their problem and why did I have the nerve to call them (my primary told me to call them). She then proceeded to tell me not to call again and hung up on me
I WOULD NOT RECOMMENDRHIS PLACE TO ANYONE!! The doctor is only in once per month. The Nurse Practitioners are very nice but after heart surgery, one should at least meet their doctor before the third appointment. This is a conveyer belt of health care services to bill your insurance! I was prescribed a medication and told it was for temporary purposes but on my next appointment and without any lab work, I was told that I would be taking it for rhe rest of my life. I alsowad told that I may need another surgery because something that was in my medical records from the hospital and my former cardiologist who performed the initial surgery, was noted but not corrected. I was told by the nurse practitioner instead of rhe doctor. Do not be fooled by the location or presentation of this office. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!
Today over the phone, Dr Borno's assistant said that Dr Sam no longer wants me as a patient after about 10 years of being my cardiologist... I am now handicapped and have had supraventricular tachycardia for several years. My wife has Alzheimer's and this is another demanding commitment of love for me.. Its challenging to find the time to take care of myself and make (not miss) appointments.. This seems to be his issue according to HIS ASSistant. Todays actions may fall under elder abuse laws or age discrimination laws. This office use to be compassionate and thorough but as time goes by things seem to change . I use to make a trip monthly to emergency for SVT attacks, one month there was three attacks. The ER nurse asked me if I was taking pills for this. I didnt know there were any such thing, and I had to make another special trip to Bornos office to REQUEST these pills. Dr Borno never gave me these pills previously, why?. Compassion seems to be replaced by an assembly line revenue generating mentality. Remember those staff members work for the Doctors there, the Doctors control their behavior or can fire them. Personally I think this office is circling the drain, the cost of this large building and staff may be seriously exceeding its revenue. Newer facilities have opened up, and the negative impact of the number of elective surgeries has slowed down due to Covid19. This may be a part of the staffs attitude issues that I read about in the reviews.
Update: Dr. Borno, was my mom's Cardiologist from 1996-2024 until her passing in January. He was so sweet and offered condolences to my dad. It was very hard to lose my mom but having caring doctors and staff that seem to genuinely care means so much when you're heartbroken. Thank you to the care team for taking such good care of her all of these years. You guys literally saved her broken heart. Rest in peace mama. __________________________________________ My mom has been going to Dr. Borno since 1996. He put her very first pacemaker in on my 7th birthday back in 1996. My mom was born with a heart condition and struggled her whole life. Finding the right doctor that would actually listen to her was very difficult. That's when she got referred to Dr. Borno. I honestly believe he saved her life. He listened, he cared, and pushed to have her have a pacemaker put in. He's still her doctor to this very day and I'll forever be thankful.
