Joanne Alonzo

I have serious questions about her competency. My mother had extremely low blood pressure and instead of advising her to seek medical attention in the emergency room she took her off a medication. It was her physical therapist that had to inform Dr. Alonzo's staff.Now my mother's in the ICU BEWARE.Dr. Alonzo didn't have the decency to give my mother a call in the hospital either.

I was referred by my primary doctor to see a cardiologist through Enloe Health Care. Dr Joanne Alonzo seemed angry from the very beginning. Throughout the appointment I was trying figure out why she was treating me so poorly. She made it clear that I never should have been referred to her and that my primary doctor should have ruled out other conditions before referring me to a specialist. When she was questioning why I was there, I tried to mention a few things like high blood pressure. She said I didn't need two people to manage my blood pressure and she would let my GP deal with that. When I asked what she thought about my calcium score test, she said the doctor that ordered it should have gone over it with me. She was not interested in discussing it and said she didn't think it was a good test. There was nothing friendly about her. I was extremely hesitant to ask questions because she had a very shaming attitude on top of her rudeness. My wife, who was with me, and I were laughing at the checkout counter because it was so incredible. Under no circumstance will I trust her with my health care.

Dr. Alonzo is one of the most caring and knowledgeable doctor I have seen. My previous cardiologist left his practice and I couldn't be more happy with Dr Alonzo. She cares about my concerns and orders all the appropriate tests to maintain my cardiac health after having a mitral valve replacement. She has also listened to other concerns and recently recommended me to Enloe pulmonary rehab which change my quality of life for the better. Dr Alonzo gets 5 stars from me.

She is Rude and condescending to patient. My 90-year-old mother has never been this upset from being verbally abused by a doctor..

I couldn't agree with Mike H. more, sounds like we had identical experiences. If you are thinking your experience might be better, I urge you to get a referral to someone else. This doctor has zero empathy for her patients and their caregivers, and will tell you straight up she doesn't do "follow up". Worst experience I've ever had with a doctor in my 45 years of life. I truly don't understand why she practices medicine with human beings when she seems to detest her patients, their caregivers and her own nurse.
