Patient
Dr. Patel's advice to stop my medication resulted in an ER visit. I have a history of SVT and had a previous ablation for it. However, I told her I was still experiencing SVT and showed her evidence of this from my Apple Watch. She dismissed me, saying this is not a medical device, which I understood. However, she condescendingly told me I did not need ANY treatment and could stop my medication immediately. She told me "I would suggest following up with your PCP about anxiety." I took all of her advice and had, not one, but TWO SVT episodes in one morning and had to be converted back to normal rhythm by paramedics TWICE. If you've never had to be converted with adenosine, trust me, you don't want to! I will be restarting my meditation and may get another ablation from another EP. This experience was very disheartening for me - a patient with previous history of SVT - as I was dismissed and gaslighted by Dr. Patel. She would not listen when I told her I was NOT anxious at all during these episodes, and now I have proof that I still have SVT from the paramedic's EKGs. If you are considering seeing Dr. Patel for your heart problems, don't. Find a better Dr.
