Dirk Baumann, M.D.

As a new patient to Dr. Baumann, both my wife & I thoroughly enjoyed our experience with him . He is a highly intelligent man with superior communication skills, aka 'MD bedside manners,' and we were left with a sense of both calm & resolve. What both my wife & I expected to hear, after all of the thorough testing done prior, was that I needed stent surgery. He advised us that, indeed, I did not and we will follow-up every 6 months to monitor my situation...maybe sometime in the future, maybe never, but not now. I highly respect Dr. Baumann, his calmness, straight forwardness, and appropriate sense of humor. In short, see Dr. Baumann for any vascular issue that you are suffering from and or may in the future, or even for a 2nd opinion. I was happy and glad I was referred to Dr Dirk Bauman by my cardiologist for thoracic aortic aneurysm consultation. When I told him about my concern about the increase in the size of my aneurysm, he told me that is his worry, not mine. He told me that the increase was within normal range and he told me that we will monitor it and ordered another CT Scan in 6 months. He asked me if I had additional questions and I asked him about diet or food and beverage restrictions, and he told me none at this time, which give me the comfort and assurance that I can still do the usual normal healthful things I am doing. Dr Bauman is a caring vascular surgeon specialist. I also rate his nurse Maricel a 5-star rating for her professional service, asking me about my health issues and medications plus the fact that she speaks the same language as mine which made me more comfortable. Also, she allowed my wife and daughter to accompany me in the examination room and allowed her to take notes. Also, I appreciate Maricel for preparing the After the Visit Notes and her making my next appointment with Dr Bauman and instructions for my lab and next CT Scan appointments.

I have the utmost respect for Dr. Baumann. Following an acute episode of DVT, he performed 2 surgeries to remove blood clots and place stents in my veins. He clearly explained everything he was going to do beforehand, and followed up with explanations about how the surgeries proceeded afterwards. He was thorough, conscientious with follow up, and as a result I have made a complete recovery. It says something, when all the nurses and assistants working with him told me repeatedly about what a great guy he was!

Dr. Baumann is one of the most personable and thorough doctors I've ever encountered. I look forward to our annual Zoom calls and he always remembers everything about my chart!
