Patient
Unfortunately, we never got to experience the care from the doctor here because the front end staff were so rude. Though the doctor has great reviews, he should take more attention to detail in who he hires to interface with the public. We were unable to make an appointment or get any information about how to do so without being told to get a referral first. Our insurance is a PPO and does not require a referral. The lady on the phone stated it isn't part of the insurance requirement but part of their process to obtain medical records. When I told her we could bring the records from our previous cardiologist with us or have them sent over, we were told we still need a referral for unknown reasons. After I told her I didn't understand why if we could provide everything they need and would like clarification, she suggested that we go to a clinic near to them (which we are not patients at) to obtain a referral and rudely said, "if not, I don't know what to tell you". If the person giving out information doesn't know what to tell a prospective patient and isn't willing to find out how to navigate their internal requirements to acquire new patients when there are abnormal situations, I don't know how a potential new patient would know or be able to navigate this. She was extremely rude and unhelpful. I am still left with the question of why or how paying to see a doctor at a clinic that does not know us or our medical history would be better suited to give a referral to their office than our previous cartiologist's records.
