About Dr. Melissa Dakkak, DO
My background in tennis greatly impacted my achievements in medicine. I completed an undergraduate degree in kinesiology because I had an interest in sports and how it affected the human body on a greater scale physiologically. Through that experience, my love for medicine grew and my interest in cardiovascular medicine started. It was an easy transition to cardiology because I'm fascinated by the physiology and mechanics the heart. I have a special interest in cardiac imaging, more specifically echocardiography. It allows me to actively diagnose and manage patients with valvular disease and various cardiomyopathies.

This is my first meeting with Dr. Dakkak after Dr. Watson left the practice. My wife and I felt she had done her homework about my history. She also suggested a procedure to replace the blood thinner I am using which is causing me some side problems. She is young and fairly new in practice but we have confidence at this time and plan to stick with her.
