I had been going to Dr Mehta for about 3 years when I decided to switch cardiologists. Dr Mehta was always kind and attentive. However, there were some aspects of being his patient that made me uneasy. I have been seeing cardiologists for 43 years. Always, there were scheduled annual tests, monitoring of my heart health, like Echocardiograms and every 2-3 yrs a Stress Tests. But I didn't get that with Dr Mehta. I felt like I was leading my heathcare much of the time. I had a stroke while under his care after going off my blood thinner for a procedure he gave me clearance for. Dr Mehta knew I was at high risk for strokes. Yet. He gave me clearance. Weeks after the stroke, I had my regular appt with him. He did no investigation as to what caused my stroke. He did change my blood thinner. We agreed future surgeries would need a Lovenox bridge. After this, he gave me clearance two more times. No mention of Lovenox. Again, I felt like Dr Mehta and his staff weren't paying attention. This made me feel unsafe in his care. I decided to change cardiologists, one who was supposed to understand, and could surgically treat, a rare vascular disease I have. I had searched for years for a Dr like this. However, he was not all he was cracked up to be and I decided to go back to Dr Mehta. I am on several meds he refills and I can't go without them. I called weeks ago and made an appt. Today, just as I was leaving for the appt, someone from his office called and asked if I wanted to cancel. I said no, why? She said there was a note that I had changed care. I said I had, but it turned out to be a mistake. She said, oh. We hung up. I drove 40 min only to be accosted by the Office Mgr after signing in. She said Dr Mehta decided not to continue my care. When I asked why they didn't tell me that on the phone, she claimed this was "just now dropped in her lap". BULL. Dr Mehta didn't have the time or decency to discuss why I left his care in the first place? HImself? In person? So he lets me, his high risk patient, just walk out the door without even a thought for my health? I feel thrown to the wolves. I don't feel like a responsible doctor would do this to a long term patient. Yet Dr Mehta did.

Dr Mehta failed to notify me about a very important health issue discovered while in his care. He then refused to speak with me again after I told him I was going to seek a second opinion. Huge red flag. I do NOT recommend this Doctor.

Dr. Mehta could not be a more understanding and helpful in my heart care! He and his staff are always respectful, helpful and understanding! I will never go anywhere else! Dr. Mehta always comes up with new ideas on how to handle my health situations as they arise. He is always willing to listen to my issues and always gives superb advice on how to resolve them! Awesome team!! A++

As always excellent care by Dr Mehta and staff. Dr Mehta has been my doctor about 10 years. He always goes beyond the call for good patient care. My boyfriend was also a patient. When he moved here I recommended he see Dr Mehta. As he aged he had many more health issues. Dr Mehta was always available for him. Mr. Mehta and Peak Heart are amazing. Thank you for such great care!

Dr. Mehta is a great doctor with a caring heart. He takes his time answering any questions. The girl that checked me in is wonderful and very upbeat. Wish there was more of her. Thank you for your compassion.
