I liked the doctors I met with but the rest of my experience here has been incredibly frustrating. I had my appointment in October and wore a two week heart monitor. My follow up was scheduled for mid November. Due to circumstances out of my control, I got to the counter 9 minutes after my appointment time. I had called in advance, they told me there is a 10 minute grace period yet when checking in, the echosaline ultrasound tech had already canceled on me. Ok, fine, I was just going to reschedule. The front office apparently can not schedule you? So I had to wait for a call. I got a call back for the appointment for my follow up but not the echosaline. I told them I was scheduled for that and that's what I'm waiting for along with the follow up. I was then told that the tech would have to call me and that she could the next day. She never called. I called the next week and they said that she'll call me the next day after that, if not it would go to management. She never called. I called the next week and was told management would call later. Guess what? They never called. I went to the patient portal and just asked for my records straight up because I'm so done and I don't feel good. It's been about a week and I've gotten NO response. I'm so done. I am so so done. I want to be taken seriously but this office never will.

I met Dr. Loli while I was in the hospital. He was SO nice, SO warm, and SO sweet. He wanted me to do a few checkups outside of the hospital. Instead of choosing any cardiologist, I chose to go to Biltmore Cardiology because of Dr. Loli.
I, unfortunately can't even begin to explain the HEADACHE that Biltmore Cardiology placed in my lap.
-They took forever to schedule my very necessary and time-sensitive CT.
-They never answered their phone, so I had to take off work just to go into the clinic to speak to someone. That manager was barely accommodating.
-They charged me an obscene amount of money without getting prior authorization for my scan.
-They bombarded me with past due amounts
-I never once saw Dr. Loli
-ETC
I know that Abrazo has taken over Biltmore Cardiology. Unfortunately, as is often the case with large acquisitions, the overall quality seems to have declined significantly. This was very apparent during my experience there -- even an Abrazo employee confided in me about how unhappy they were working under the new management.
I work in healthcare operations and dedicate my time to refining every aspect of the patient experience. I'm grateful to be part of an organization that prioritizes quality care- Which is even more evident after experiencing how difficult and inefficient things felt at Biltmore Cardiology.

Update #4: I attempted to call Kristin as instructed, and the extension she gave me rang, then disconnected. I called and told the person who answered the phone that the extension I was given didn't work. She said that they were "updating extensions" and sent me to a different one, but the mailbox was full. I called back again and spoke to a different person who asked, "Which Kristin?" The first person didn't ask, so who knows who's ext I was sent to. She was very rude and short and wouldn't let me complete a sentence. I asked for Kristin's correct extension, and she said, "They don't have extensions. They move around a lot." Which is it? Are you "updating extensions" or you "don't have them," even though I was given one to call back? My appt is Monday. If you have someone who actually knows what they are doing and isn't inconvenienced by their job, could they PLEASE call me back? I don't want to come to an appointment if you don't have results, and I WILL NOT be charged a cancellation fee because of your incompetence and apathy.
Update #3: I called to reschedule my follow-up with Dr. Premkumar for the sleep study because it had taken them so long to sort out their "I don't know what happened," that the appt would occur after the study. The first person told me he had no appts until Dec. I explained that I had been trying to get this done since early August, and she stated that's the soonest he had and they do not have a waiting list. I was then transferred to a Kristin. She offered a sooner appointment, but told me to call her the Thursday prior to make sure they received the results of the study and gave me her direct extension.
Update #2: I spoke to a Lisa. She stated that the Dr.'s assistant puts in the order for prior approval. I said, "Somebody dropped the ball," and she said, "I agree." I asked why a doctor would call at 6:45AM on a Sunday, and she said, "I don't know why he does that." I then spoke to a Kristin (Kristi?). She confirmed that an order for the prior auth was sent this time. The official answer as to why this has been so mishandled was, "I don't know what happened." I asked why my calls were never returned and she asked if I would like the office manager to call me. I said yes. I never received a call back or any explanation as to why my calls/messages were ignored and why it took blowing up the internet and their portal just to get a call back.
Update #1: I finally received a call back at 6:45am on Sunday morning. The doctor referenced a previous test (not what I had been leaving detailed messages for), and told me to call the same number that I've been calling and leaving messages that go unanswered.
I will try this. Maybe I can get someone to respond. They called me regarding a sleep study and told me to call my insurance company and gave me a reference number. I called my insurance company and they had no record of that reference number and they showed that the sleep study was approved. I've now left four messages for Dr Premkumar and his assistant since late August, and no one will call me back. Also, the person who answers the phone is very short, rude, and will cut you off. Could I PLEASE get in contact with someone who can tell me what is going on?

My Mother was born 12/12/ 1924. They really convinced me that they cared. They are all too busy.I have never actually met the cardiologist, always the PA. Twice my appointments were cancelled and all of the labs seem to be getting my poor Mom nowhere. The nice desk worker seemed caring but really the only one who impressed me was the ultrasound tech . Wish I could remember her name. She was extremely thorough. The front desk also leaves much to be desired. Usually, I write positive reviews but I am so disappointed with these medical professionals and their staff. I should have checked their rating before visiting their office.

Dr Byrne has been my cardiologist for the last 20 years. I really appreciate him keeping me alive. Kristin and Danielle are great too. If I have a question or need to get a hold of someone I use the patient portal and I always get a response in a timely fashion. Some people think the front desk people are rude but I think they're just super busy, it's a big practice. Thank you Dr Byrne and team!
