Arrived on time for my appointment and experienced NO wait whatsoever! Dr. Makkar is extremely efficient and scheduled me immediately for an atrial ablation next week. His staff provided me with information regarding a local hotel as we are 3.5 hours away and will need accommodations prior to and following the procedure. Two items of note- the automatic BP cuff is EXTREMELY tight and PAINFUL. I believe that the mechanism and discomfort resulted in an abnormally high reading for me. Also- Dr. Makkar gave me opportunity to ask questions- but did not ask me what I considered pertinent questions regarding my personal and family health histories. Much of the preliminary paperwork completed via the patient portal was multiple choice without the option for "other" as a selection for items not on the prepared list. I had several areas that I would have liked to address. Also - after driving 3.5 hours (each way!) for the appointment- I was surprised to meet with the Dr for less than 20 minutes. Perhaps this appointment- if it was just for the purpose of scheduling a date/time for the surgical procedure - could have been accomplished via a zoom meeting?

Explained why it was needed and let you know everything he was doing while completing procedure. Best Dr and team! Loved it! It's great to feel safe.

Dr. Makkar was wonderful, very through. One suggestion for office staff. If your patient is waiting in a room for 30 minutes or more check in with them so they don't feel forgotten.
