Chan Heart Rhythm Institute, Dr. Rodrigo Chan

Has an appointment for 11:15am and arrived 30 minutes early as instructed. Waited until 11:45 to see when we would be seen and they said Dr Chan was over 2 hrs behind and we would have to wait. They did not acknowledge this when checking on and said this was normal for dr chan. Rescheduled because we were not able to wait until 2:00 to be seen when the original appointment was for 11:15 Patients should be alerted when checking in or told before hand. Working in a medical office we make it a point to tell patients when they will have to wait a significant amount of time and it is disrespectful to assume someone can wait for long periods of time.

I was referred to Dr Chan by DrJost. I was told to arrive 30 minutes before my appointment time.which was unnecessary because they already had my information. I waited 45 minutes in the over crowded waiting room before approaching the reception desk to see when I would see Dr Chan. I was told I was next in line. 45 minutes later (after a multitude of patients were called ...obviously I was not next...I approached a nurse that was calling in another patient to see when I could see the doctor. I was told he is 2 hours behind and that is normal for him. I explained that the person that brought me had to get back to work so we left. When I arrived home I received a phone call from Dr Chan's office asking if I wanted to reschedule. I explained I was there for a consultation so I could have an echocardiogram and if I had to wait over 2 hours just for a consultation how long after an appointment time would I have to wait for an actual treatment. So NO I didn't reschedule. He may be an excellent doctor but his disrespect for his patients and their time is unprofessional and unacceptable.

My 1st ever cardiologist appointment, I was super nervous.But Dr Chan made me feel so comfortable. Answered all my questions patiently,explained the minutest detail of the medicine that he prescribed,described the reasons behind high bp,cited relevant examples. I left his clinic feeling so confident as I believe knowledge is power.He cracked jokes to keep the environment light and me and my husband loved it. We thought he would be just another busy doctor who hardly sees patients for 5mins but thankfully he proved us wrong,he spent at least 30mins if not more with us writing down everything in paper. Thank you so much Dr Chan from the bottom of our hearts

My main issues when we arrived was our appointment was scheduled for 2:30pm. We didnt get back to a room until almost 3:30pm. Then we find out that the person who is supposed to test the pacemaker wasn't even there. We ended up having to reschedule the appointment because we had another appointment to get to by 4:30pm. The staff was very nice and apologetic, but that didnt make up for basically having to waste the time to drive there and sit in the lobby for about an hour before anyone really told us anything. I hope we can be seen timely next time and not run into these issues.

I'm sure Dr Chan is good but waiting over 2 hours in waiting room was ridiculous. Had anxiety and stress by the time I walked out of the office. Then after being called and sitting in an exam room for another 30-45 minutes I couldn't take it and was so upset I walked out . Never saw Dr Chan!
