I had a visit with Dr. Makkar yesterday (Friday) and instead of ordering more tests, he discussed immediate action to remedy my AFib rather than talking about it. I called the scheduler to see if I could have surgery sooner and she called me the next day (Saturday) and got me scheduled. So far I am impressed.

He was very thorough and explained everything to me in less than 15 minutes. However, there should be an option to reschedule if there's more than a 15-20 min. delay, as I was cooling my heels in the exam room for nearly 40 min. OTOH, this means if you need extra time, he'll take it for you as well as other patients, and sometimes these things happen.

If I could rate lower I would. This was the worst Dr. appointment I've ever been to. I drove 6 hours to see Dr. Makkar. Walking in I was hoping I'd be a good visit it seemed like it was busy and like it was taking people a while with their provider; instead the receptionist was very rude, my appointment was at 2:40 I was in the waiting room for 1.5 hours and another 45 minutes in the room waiting to see Dr. Makkar. Before Dr. Makkar came in his MA came back in and told me that they had records from my mom's heart attack in MY records. Finally at 3:32 Dr. Makkar came in and didn't ask any questions, didn't ask about my symptoms, didn't ask about my history, NOTHING, we walked out of the building at 3:33!!! I got to visit with Dr. Makkar for 1.5 minutes. I AM NOT IMPRESSED!!!! I drove 6 Hrs for what could've been a phone call telling me to schedule a test before I drive to the boonies to see him! I know less about my condition now than when I started! If I could rate this visit lower than 1 star I would! Would I recommend this office/provider to others? OVER MY DEAD BODY! NO! NO I WOULD NOT!

I was so stunned and scared to find out I had a cardiac issue that required surgical intervention. Dr Makkar put me at ease and performed my procedure as he told me he would. He is so knowledgeable in his field and his follow up care is thorough. I completely trust him regarding my care. His surgical team was great also and helped me to relax and understand what to expect and really made the process so much easier for me. This is so important to me because it has not been easy receiving good care here in this state. I am grateful for him and his team.

Very enthusiastic! All business but you know he cares about you. His support staff are all very efficient and motivated. Office visits normally are very quick and effective.
