Patient
Dr. Alvaro Rosales has been the best cardiologist and doctor that has evaluated and treated my son. My son has had major health issues since he was very young and no one has taken the time to try to solve the mystery illness, they just want to treat symptoms and hand out medications. My son has seen doctors during the past 13 years in two other states and no one would look at the big picture. Some had even misdiagnosed my son. Dr Rosales has taken an interest in my son's rare autoimmune and autoinflammatory condition that has been causing recurrent pericarditis since 2021. This doctor cares about his patients and is eager to spend his time, going above and beyond, even on his days off on a Sunday morning over coffee, trying to find the cause of my son's illness. He has put on the hat of the forensic medical doctor and enjoys the challenge of solving complex medical mysteries. He spends a lot of time with us in the exam room and has arranged for specialist in other areas to help solve this mystery. My son's PCP didn't want to give my son a referral to Dr Rosales, stating she didn't think he was a very good doctor because he ordered "unnecessary" tests. I insisted on the referral and I am so glad a did. Other doctors wanted my son on a new medication that could cause even more health issues worse than what he has. Some side effects were an increased risk of hepatitis and HIV! When I questioned this, I got a lame response of "well, all drugs have side effects!" WTH? They don't care about the side effects. Dr. Rosales reviewed the medication and came to the same conclusion as me about how dangerous this medication would be for my son. I am so grateful to Dr. Rosales and we have high hopes that he will lead us to the answers to my son's chronic illness. I wish more doctors cared more about their patients like this wonderful and kind doctor is.
