Honestly if I can give this man and killer hospital Jackson 0 stars I would. My dad was admitted into that hospital under Dr Kwan care to have open heart surgery 1/10/24 . Every hour his staff called saying something different was going on with my dads heart and kwan had to do extra stuff. My dad was in ICU where he was progressing fine in fact the nurses were telling me he was doing better than any other heart patient that endured a major surgery like that. Some how the day my dad get put in a regular room is the day he passed. He was severely disoriented and they failed to do anything about it and he snatch his Cordis out of his neck, after that he then went to physical therapy, possibly an hour later he went bradycardia they called ICED instead of his next to kin, they broke hippa law. Dr Kwan is soooo unprofessional and had the nerve to tell me my dad was lonely.. Please Stay away from Jackson Hospital people never really have luck there you can go in for one thing and die from something totally different.

If you have a loved one under this man's care, get them out of there and to a different hospital. My Dad had a quadruple bypass and everything was going great until they transferred him to a regular room a day after the surgery and basically kicked him out just a day after that. He ended up going to a different hospital where they found out he had an infection in both legs, his feet, and a blood infection, sepsis, from the surgery. They thought at first they were just going to have to amputate his legs and put him on antibiotic treatment, but they were unable to undo the damage already done. My Dad fought on the ventilator for months until he passed away; and it all roots back to Stephen Kwan. This guy doesn't deserve a medical license and if you're under his care, get OUT of there!! Surgeon from hell.

Worst God complex of any doctor I ever met. He performed six bypasses on me almost three years ago, butchered both my legs removing veins, and, refused to acknowledge a severe infection from the vein removal. I was admitted again to the hospital where he cut my infected leg open using his bandage scissors with no pain blockers. I then had to go to a wound care physician and wore a wound vac for 6 weeks as well as had massive antibiotics. I have pain in both legs and my chest to this day! Run away, run far away! I would not send a dog to this man!

Dr Kwan was called in with a 24 hour notice by a local cardiologist to do an emergency quintuple (5) bypass on my mother on March 27,2018. He was truly god sent and amazzzing!! He is the best!!! #5in the US!!!! Surgery was successful and my mom is recooperating well!!!! Thanks Dr. Stephen Kwan

He preformed my heart bypass surgery. I have no other to compare with. I recovered well. He stayed with me until I was moved to the step down unit. Very good bedside manner. I would recommend Dr. Kawn to anyone in Alabama or anywhere else for that matter.
