Heart Group of the Eastern Shore

My son and I both use this group. He sees them more often due to severe heart issues from Kawasaki disease at 15 months old. He is now 25 thanks to the wonderful doctors here. He has used all of them and received the same excellent care. I use Dr. Harris. No matter which doctor or NP you get, they all provide the same high quality treatment. I gladly refer my customers to them if they need a heart doctor. Thank you for taking such great care of both of us!

Dr. Pursley and NP Michael Charles are outstanding. They were both patient and caring, explained things in a way I could understand. The entire staff there is friendly and wonderful to work with. I've had 3 visits and never waited more than a few minutes.

From the time you enter the door up to on the way out, pure professionalism. Dr. Pursley and his team know what they are doing and I appreciate the conservative approach but knowing if treatment needs to be more aggressive, that option is there. NP Michael Charles is fantastic!

I saw Dr. Pursley. He is the most condescending medical provider I have ever encountered. I have worked in the medical field for a decade & I wouldn't work for someone who spoke to their patients the way he spoke to me. I explained my symptoms to him in detail. How miserable I felt because of the long episodes of tachycardia. That I was unable to sleep because of the severe night sweats & tachycardia. Some mornings it was hard for me to get out of bed to take my kids to school. That my daily life was impacted. He told me there was no reason I couldn't take my kids to school & that I need to just push through the symptoms. My husband & I are both medically educated enough to know the base line tests that I needed. Pursley said no. He put me on a Beta Blocker & when it tanked my BP, he refused to call in BP meds to raise it. Finally he said to stop the Beta Blocker & just take the BP med. I don't have hypotension without the Beta Blocker, which I need to control my heart rate. Today his office told me I need to see another specialist because it's not a "cardiac issue" but to continue my meds so I don't damage my heart. He has gaslit every symptom & neglected to do his job as a healthcare provider. Shame on him. Michael Charles, his NP, has great bedside manner & at least acts like he's listening. He was the only good experience while being a patient there.

I would definitely recommend this office and Dr. Harris to my closest friends and family. Everyone that I've come in contact with has been helpful with a nice attitude. Dr. Harris is a caring doctor and will make sure you are taken care of.
