My Uncle needed a difficult open-heart surgery, and we took him to the Kirkland clinic in Birmingham. The physician that did the surgery was excellent. However, his scheduling assistant Tammy was a nightmare to deal with. She was impatient and short-tempered when we had to reschedule due to covid and she was very rude every time I had to interact with her. The cardio intensive care staff was exceptional, especially Nurse Peter who took amazing care of my Uncle after the surgery. He was an absolute angel! Once they moved my Uncle out of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, they transferred him to level 3 and dealing with nurse LaShonda and friends, was a real Nightmare. We were on level 3 with this group of nurses for 6 days. LaShonda and the other nurses continually woke my Uncle and I up at least every two hours, all night long. They laughed and partied outside of our room very loudly and didn't care that everyone on that floor was suffering and very sick from going through open heart surgery. I am grateful to my Uncle's doctor for saving his life. I'm extremely disappointed about nurse LaShonda and the other nurses on level 3 that do not care about their patients or the atmosphere of healing that's needed for their patients or their families that have to go through this ordeal. They should not be in the nursing profession. So disappointing.
