Dr Percy Colon is a highly experienced and skilled General Cardiologist with a special interest in cardiac diagnostics. He received BS and MS degrees at the University of New Orleans, and his MD from the Louisiana State University. He completed his residency and fellowship at the renowned Alton Ocshner Medical Foundation in New Orleans, LA. Dr Colon joined CVA in 1999. He practices general cardiology and treats conditions such as Coronary Artery Disease and Heart Failure among other cardiac disorders. He is skilled in cardiac diagnostics including echocardiography and nuclear stress tests, as well as cardiac catheterization and has been published in many scientific abstracts focusing on diagnostic imaging and testing.

Colon is a terrible doctor, and very arrogant, throws medicine without understanding test results. Fast to diagnose but won't get to know patient.I am firing this clinic today. Also, this clinic never calls aside to cancel appointments I have had for months.
My experience with this place rates as a five star office. All the staff keeps the process of your appointment Moving in a timely manner. My experience with the lab testing and everyone in test lab have been very well trained and professional. My doctor is precise with directions and my plan of action.
If I could give no star I would. I never leave reviews. However, my husband went in on the 16th of November for some test. It's the 11th of December and we still don't have those results. I have called every day. His paper work reads stat meaning quickly/emergency. His blood pressure was high like high high 160/100 it took a week for them to call back by then his regular physician worked him in and changed his meds but it should have been his cardiologist. There is no excuse for this I have asked for supervisors and everything. Please go somewhere that they care. Another lady I talked to said if she would have listened to them she wouldn't be here today. She had 95 percent blockage in her LAD/ widow maker that they missed as well at CVA. This doctor should not be aloud to practice if he neglects patients and that's exactly what he has done in my husbands case. They say they put their heart into treating yours. If that's the case they would all be dead by now considering it's a month with no call and my husband has what could possibly be a serious condition.
Doctor literally diagnosed me before we even met. I was having back pain that radiated to my chest and neck. Blood pressure of 190/120 and he decided that the pain was from an old back surgery and that was why I had high blood pressure. His arrogance is unbelievable. Never mind that I have a stent in my heart and a previous heart attack and that all my grandparents and parents died of heart failure. He listened to my heart for about 5 seconds and then left. Only did an X-ray of my heart, no MRI or CT or Cath. Unbelievable. July of 2023: Ended up going to a heart specialist at UAB. They did a heart cath and found 90% blockage in a artery and a myocardial bridge. Bypass surgery done and myocardial bridge fixed. Heart stopped beating twice during surgery. It is now October 2023. Had to go through several weeks of physical rehab. All of this because a doctor would not listen to what I had told him.
This group runs like clock work. Everyone works together and seems to go very smoothly. Dr. Colon is very knowledgeable and takes up time with you. The nurses and staff have always been friendly and helpful.
