We've taken several of our cats to Dr. Ingrid over the years. She's always been caring and thoughtful--and gentle with each of them. She even sent flowers on the passing of our cats when they did pass away. But they got several extra years of quality life after seeing her.

Very Unhelpful. This clinic is the ONLY pet cardiologist within a 3 hour drive in the central Alabama area and they flat out REFUSE to help my cat. They won't see him or do a consult from the echocardigram I had done elsewhere. My cat is having cyanotic episodes when he gets stressed (he has an enlarged heart) and being in the car really stresses him out and he has these episodes (the longer he is stressed the worse the episode gets). This clinic is only a 30 minute drive (which is closer than my actual vet clinic) and they refuse to see him because he might crash (which is understandable I guess, but not really since I would assume EVERY animal with a heart condition is under the same risks .. so the fact that this clinic doesn't even have oxygen or a pulse oximeter on hand is surprising .. considering I have both in my own home for this very reason). Instead of a 30 minute drive across town (where they're afraid he might crash) they instead want me to drive 3 hours to Auburn where he is sure to crash after 3 hours of stress, then people poking and prodding on him, and another 3 hour drive back with no access to oxygen to help bring him out of the episode. Very uncaring imo. To know you are THE only option in Birmingham or surrounding areas and refuse to see a cat that could benefit (literal difference between life and death) from your services. Very disheartening after I kept hearing such good things about this doctor and had hoped they could help my best friend of 10 years too. Guess not though, since my cat doens't qualify as the perfect patient. 2 giant fat thumbs down.

These people are angels. Kate and Ingrid gave my dog a few more wonderful months to live in which she was in no pain and completely happy. Please, if your dog has a heart issue take them here. You will never regret it. When I had trouble affording medication Kate worked with me on dosages so we could find the most affordable combination. When my dog died Kate called the vet to inform them I was on my way for cremation. And a week later I received a card in the mail in which they made a donation in her honor to the Morris Animal Foundation. Please give this place your support. You and your dog will be better off for it!!

15 years ago, our 1st Sheltie developed an enlarged heart. We were extremely pleased with the treatment, both from a medical perspective and kindness perspective. It was a kindness that extended after our pet's ultimate trip to Rainbow Bridge. Now, 15 years later, our 8th Sheltie is a current patient and doing beautifully. We highly recommend Cardiac Evaluations.

My dog had a fainting episode a week ago, and our longtime vet treated him with a heart med. it wasn't having the positive effect we had hoped and my little guy was coughing and gagging up fluid. So my vet referred me to Dr Ingrid for an echocardiogram. I called to set an appointment and a woman with pretty poor people skills told me it would be over a month before I could have an echocardiogram done on my dog. I told her I felt he was not in good physical shape and needed to be seen sooner. She told me I needed to go back to my vet or I could go to GA or TN because there wasn't anywhere else in Alabama that did this. In other words take it or leave it, and tough. No empathy. No options. I have since found there are several other vet clinics where you can get an echocardiogram done. I am still upset over how rudely I was treated. Like everyone who loves their pet, when there is a serious health issue we don't need rudeness. We are looking for help. I will never call this clinic again.
